CHP Receives 2016 United Thank Offering Grant
In the Summer of 2014, the Colorado Haiti Project graciously received a grant from the United Thank Offering. The United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of the Episcopal Church designed to nurture the daily habit of noticing the good things God is doing in our lives and giving a small coin offering. UTO annually collects these thank offerings and then gives away 100% of all funds as grants to support innovative mission and ministry in the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion. CHP was fortunate enough to benefit from these incredible generosities and received a grant to increase career readiness of students in rural Haiti.
This past June, 2016, CHP received a second UTO grant! In order to continue supporting this important work in Petit Trou, our most recent grant piggy-backs on the agriculture work from the last two years. When applying to UTO, we focused solely on “striving to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.” Even more specifically, this grant will allow us to continue education in agriculture with an emphasis on eco-friendly, sustainable and income-generating methods in farming and irrigation while minimizing any negative impact on the environment.
