In time for the holidays, the Colorado Haiti Project is partnering with Just Haiti to launch a special CHP Coffee. The delicious, fair-traded roast supports economic progress and environmental sustainability in rural Haiti. Get your first taste of it at our annual Haiti for the Holidays market on December 8th, and it will also soon be available for purchase on our Esty page. (Can’t wait to order? Put in an early request at info@coloradohaitiproject.org.)

With CHP Coffee, Haiti wins twice—both when we buy coffee beans directly from growers at fair trade rates and also when we invest the proceeds into our programs to support local agriculture, education, community health, and girls' empowerment. Just Haiti is an ideal coffee partner for CHP because of its fair and direct trade that enables farmers to access better food, health care, and education to build strong families and communities. Just Haiti also supports a tree-planting program to help reforest Haiti and enable growers to produce more chemical-free, shade-grown coffee.

Coffee grower Syl Fritz recently told Just Haiti, “Right now, with the coffee, we sell to Just Haiti, we get US dollars and we get more money for the coffee we sell. When I get the money, I pay for my children's schools, I pay to maintain my coffee gardens, I buy food and pay for medical care for the children. We also invest some of that money to develop new fields.”

We’re kicking off our coffee project with a small batch, available for purchase in 12-ounce and five-pound bags. Haitian coffee is chocolatey, smooth, with low acidity. And the benefits to Haiti make this coffee a truly great way to start your day. Buy some of the first bags of CHP Coffee now before they’re gone!
