Kick off 2019 with Songs and Stories of Haiti
2019 will mark CHP’s 30th anniversary of working in Haiti, and we’re thrilled to be kicking off the new year by welcoming Paul Beaubrun, a Haitian musician, writer and storyteller for his first show in Boulder! Paul will share his unique blend of roots, blues, jazz, and reggae in a stripped down acoustic concert at the Laughing Goat Cafe. Paul will be introduced and joined on stage by CHP Director Wynn Walent, who is also a musician whose songs have been inspired by experiences in Haiti.
Wynn and Paul will be playing on the eve of the 9th anniversary of the Haiti earthquake on January 12, 2010, and they each see the night as a chance to bear witness to the tragedy of that day, the challenges and progress that have occurred in the years since, and their individual perspectives on Haiti’s path forward.
All ages are welcome! All proceeds raised from event donations will benefit CHP’s work. We hope you can join us!
